At first glance one would think it clashes with -: “Saved by his blood” in the gospel.”. Discussion for a PPT show maybe?
That’s exactly right, Jerry. Putting anything before God Almighty is making idols. Lusting after things is part of humanity’s more common sin like the love of money, materialism, or just plain wishing or wanting what someone else has including characteristics or looks, wanting someone else’s wife, husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, family, children, status, fame, job, personality, intelligence, humor, etc.
And who hasn’t abused another in thought, word, or deed? No one that I can think of & I’m pretty sure not anyone ever. God put us all here on planet earth but no one is perfect except for Christ, Man & God, because “All have fallen short of the glory of God” & all means all according to the Lord.
